does the Xbox360 controller work on a pc?

Im not sure if its the right board to post this question, but I did it anyway ;). Well does the controller work with pc (Win XP sp2). I want to play some Biohazard 4 and it would probably play smoother with a controller.

Yeah you can plug it in. They also have a wirless adapter out now.

Yea, if you have a wired controller it will work. And like the poster above me said, you can buy the Wireless receiver for the PC so you can use your wireless controllers, too.

Can you use it for non-pc games on a pc? Also... how does it work if the only way the controller can be turned on is when the 360 is on?

yeah you can buy a broadband and then you can play the x box 360 on the computer.
