Does the Wired Mic work with the PC too?

I know this isn't really an "Xbox 360 gaming" question, but I was wondering if the Wired mic worked when connected to a PC. I tried to plug it into the Mic input on my laptop but it didn't seem to fit. Just wondering if I'm dumb or if it just doesn't work at all. After some quick Google searches I saw that people said it was possible... but it's not working for me.
