I was thinking about it and I was wondering what you guys thought. The standard price for a new game is $60 and in the case of games like GOW, Oblivion and RS6V it's not even an issue for me to just go buy them...however with games that are just good such as FNR3, NCAA07, ________(insert any just good game name here.) Well I just have a problem with justifying getting them at full price and then I end up waiting for a price drop, sale at a dept store or them going to the Platnum Hits line. Do any of you find it hard justifying a $60 game purchase when you know the game is just good not great?

That's why I rent.  Renting is a cheap way to play the good games without throwing down $60 for them.  Plus, the cost of one game can get you quite a few rentals.

That's why I work at the bestbuy. I only pay 50 dollars for these games.

I don't like that they charge $60+ for games but I get an employee discount at Gamestop now so it's not so bad for me.

I don't have a problem because games of this generation are so good. GeOW, Rainbow Six Vegas, and THP8 were all worth it, and I keep an eye out for deals like $40 for NFS: Carbon on the day after Christmas. Sure, not every game is worth it, but Gears probably wouldn't have been as good if the standard was $50 since there is less budget (although they were really on MS's dollar for that one)

nope, I get discounts by using the gfs staff card or her friends depending on the store, and I usually time it so that I get them discounted somewhat b4 the staff discount is added on top.. :D

Yeah you might pay $60 for a new game, but their are all sorts of places you can go to find games that haven't just been released for little over $40.00. Not to mention, if you beat the game in ten hours, its still cheaper then buying a hooker for ten hours.

Depends game to game. You can always wait for a price drop as well.
