Can you transfer MSP?

My friend just got RRoD and decided to switch to PS3, but he had some MSP left over, and said I could have them if I wanted.

So, can you transfer MSP and how do you do it?

I don't think you can transfer them. You could recover his gamertag on your console though, then use the points. Anything you download to your console should work for your tag as well.
