@Venom951 Search around the laptop, chances are if you haven't seen anything yet, you don't have a HDMI slot.
Are you in high school or college? I went through this same debacle back when I first went to college.
To be straight, there is no cheap way to do this. You will be better off getting a monitor for under $150. It will be cheaper and also give you better image quality. Make sure its 1080p and has atleast one HDMI port.
@Glutenbob:
No Im 24 moving into a apartment with my girlfriend and all our stuff is in a storage unit so I just want some quick gaming until we can get the moving truck and get all our TVs outta storage so I have a laptop with a HDMI slot and was wondering if I could play on the laptop . By the way Thank You !
ah ok..yeh you might as well just wait. I've only heard of laptops with HDMI out, never seen one with HDMI in.
@BattleSpectre:
I have a HDMI port just 1 but how can I tell the difference between in and out ?
and thank you for your help .
My apologies for the late reply, when I responded to your questions yesterday it was 3am, so I went to bed. Ok so you have a HDMI port which is good, but I don't believe it's HDMI in. Laptops usually only have HDMI/VGA out which means it will only send signals and not receive signals. Like someone else mentioned, you'll need a capture card if you wish for this to work.
