Assassins Creed: Black Flag - Online community?

I'm likely going to pick up Assassins Creed:Black Flag now that it can be found for $20-25 new. I was just wondering if people are still playing it online? The SP is my main concern but if the MP was still active, that would be a bonus.

Many still play online but in my opinion online game modes aren't that good. SP however is just amazing. The graphics are awesome and it has a very stable storyline

I'm like 30% through the story. I basically play AC for simply the single player campaign. They don't spend enough time on multiplayer. Honestly if there was a game world that would have suited open world multiplayer it would have been AC4. But they restrict to sections of the world.....sad.
