All of the 360 games available today are rendered in 720p and so are upscaled to 1080p. The best answer is that the images don't really look any better. However, there are some games coming out that support 1080p natively, (in other words, the images are actually rendered in 1080p) and those games will obviously look better than 720p. The 1080p games announced so far are: Virtua Tennis 3 and NBA Homecourt.

That's not true. That's Sony brainwashing going on. 1080p can be used with VGA or Component, as well as HDMI and DVI.

actually it cannot be used with component unless you have a tv that supports that which most dont. vga yes but then u need a vga port which a ton of people simply do not have. especially 42 inch plasmas seem to not have it.

and it doesnt matter anyway. component and vga are NOT true HD 1080p so the difference would not be the same as TRUE HD 1080p

That's totally false. 1080p is 1080p. There is no special TRUE HD 1080p. It's all the same resolution. The only difference between VGA 1080p and HDMI 1080p is that HDMI benefits from a digital signal and is therefore more resistant to image defects (like smearing, colour inaccuracies and distortion). In the real world, the difference is incredibly minute on 2 similar screens running side-by-side.

It has been denied by Microsoft, but it probably will in the future. Think 1-2 years in the future.

Yeah HD is just a higher resolution, but there's no denying it looks better, especially on a large screen. And yeah, TRUE HD is marketing speak that means nothing at all.
