Does anyone know if the Logitech Chillstream pad works with the 360?

Logitech Chillstream

Essentially it is an imitation 360 pad for the PC that has a fan built inside to keep your hands cool. It works for PC, and Logitech made one specifically for the PS3, but what I want to know is will it work with a 360? It has a USB connection, so it would be possible to plug it in the same way you would with a regular wired 360 pad, but would the console recognise it and use it?

Not a huge point in the product, but aside from that, if you've already got 1, why not try it out? If not just wait for some1 who has tried to post here and confirm.

from what I understand MS requires a chip inside their controllers to properly work, so that probably won't work.

The page itself says the only compatible platform is PC - so I assume the 360 isn't supported. Even on the Logitech website, it mentions nothing about Xbox 360 compatibility. I'm willing to bet it won't work on the 360 (sadly, since it's a cool controller).

Strange though, it has the guide button and everything...

I haven't bought it as I wanted to see if it could be used on both PC and 360 before I get one.

If the controller needs some special 360 chip inside it, then I guess that could be the problem. Otherwise it seems to have all the right buttons to imitate a regular 360 pad. I find it strange that Logitech would choose to make a pad designed to look like a 360 pad, but not one that would work on a 360. There is a separate one available specific to Playstation.

Has anyone got this pad and can try it out?

No it wont work. Otherwise it would be called the PC/360 chill stream. Also if it could work then the opposite must also be true (using 360 usb controllers for PC) However you cant do that. Sorry you are out of luck.

I own a chill stream and can safely say it does not work on the xbox 360. I was unaware that 360 controllers did not work on PC as I believe I heard they do but I don't use controllers on my computer often to concern myself with that.

I was very disappointed to learn that the controller didn't work since I bought it with hopes of using it for my PC and my xbox 360. Oh well.

Your not alone, I suffer the same disappointment. The chillstream would've been great here in Arizona, gets pretty sweaty even with the AC running.

I never buy third-party products. I have just never been happy with them.

As someone who works with these products, I honestly have to say that there are a few things you should NEVER buy third-party.

NEVER EVER EVER BUY THIRD PARTY:

-Controllers or controller accessories (excluding gel pads and such)

-headsets (unless a reputable brand, like Motorolla Bluetooth for PS3)

- Power supplies

- Cooling systems (actually, don't buy cooling systems at all!!!)

- Controller Power accessories, such as "plug and charge" kits

- System modifiers that require power (LED lights, etc).

Hope this helped.

No it doesn'y work. I bought one and i connect it to the 360 to see if it work and it didn't. The xbox doesn't recognize it. This sucks, because it a nice controller.
