Xbox wont go past first loading Screen and dodgie ever since red Dead redemption

well! basically, my xbox wont get past the first screen we all see once we turn on the xbox, i tried to turn it on without The 120 gb harddrive n it worked
but with harddrive, NO go.... still loading ..,
NOw basically everytihng waas perfect never a problem until red dead redemption.. so wat the heck is going on.. I had a glitch in a level now no loading

sounds like a corrupt hard drive,

my friend had a similar problem, it would boot up and work fine without the hard drive, but wouldnt even start with the hard drive in it,

after some testing involving swapping around of hard drives between my console and his

• my hhd in his console, worked fine
• his hdd in my console, nothing worked

so we concluded from that, that his hdd was corrupt, and he basically just had to buy another one, and loose all his save data etc

but there may be another solution i dont know?
