Anyone got any ideas or information regarding this xbox surface? Looks pretty interesting. Wonder if this can be used on the current 360 or the next-gen model. I have a feeling this might be Microsoft's equivalent of Sony Vita.

Naaa maybe an answer to the iPad. I don`t think xbox will make a run at a solely gaming handheld like the Vita...too many risks. The Vita is on its own and other companies are perfectly fine to keep it that way...lol

its not called the xbox surface, its not a gaming system, its a tablet...called the Microsoft Surface. and its competition to the iPad and slew of android tablets.

Well for one it isn't called the "Xbox Surface". It is called "Microsoft Surface" and it is FAR removed from being a console. /Facepalm.

No, it's obviously their answer to the I-pad. Besides, if Microsoft were to compete in handheld gaming why would they want to compete with the loser, to be blunt.

I think you are confusing the XBox Smart Glass with the Microsoft Surface. The Surface is a tablet meant more to compete with iPads and Android devices. Smart Glass is an app that you will be able to connect with the XBox. Now can the app let you do something that the Wii U and Vita are suppose to be able to do? Possibly, it will be interesting to see. I am sure the Surface will include the Smart Glass App.

actually the tablet runs a full version of Windows 8 and can run almost anything a desktop PC can, so you can run steam and most PC games on it, during the confrences they showed it running Diablo 3, so it's basically a laptop/tablet hybrid. so it can be used as a gaming system.

they need a phone to integrate with the next gen console or smartphones will drive microsoft OOB.

For those thinking I got the word all wrong.

I'm not just calling it "Xbox Surface" out of my own creative imagination. The website actually says "Xbox Surface" not Microsoft Surface. And I heard of Microsoft Surface being a tablet. So what's the difference between an Xbox Surface and a Microsoft Surface? Is it the same thing, only it will be called an Xbox Surface once it has Xbox integration?

the surface pro runs a full version of 8, the RT model is the mobile platform like the phones

That looks more like specs for a new gaming system with a touchscreen controller similar to the Wii U. Nothing like what was announced recently. This might be something to look for more in the future when the new xbox is announced.
