I need to know if it is better to have your Xbox setup to where it is standing up or laying down b/c standing up I use a fan stand but laying down I don't use anything and I will not use an intercooler.

You should not use an intercooler as it can cause problems and if it does it voids the warranty.

I have mine on its side as it sometimes would scratch game disks and I have heard that it happens because of it being standing up. I layed it down and have not had a problem since.

hey key 28

when i play with my xbox i play with it laying down because it is on a shelf.

if yours is just in your TV room i would put it laying down because you don't need a cooler

also it is easier to place your games on top and you can easily get your discs without with falling out to the floor on you

if you like it standing up, you can keep it that way, thats just my opinion.

Dont use an intercooler. That just takes more power.

Have it set in an open area, or have a small fan behind it. I have mine laying down.

Plus I heard that standing it up can mess the system up over time.

I've had mine vertical since day one, not a scratch or any other problems. Never dropped a disc neither.

I have mine vertical, for safety reasons. I dont wanted it standing up and getting knocked over by my sister or dog. It will scratch a game if your playing and it gets knocked over

Both are the same I would say but yeah change in reading speed could occur. So better is horizontal i.e laid on the ground. But vertical is no bad either. But dont change arrangment while running a game or it will scratch your disk.

Umm, I think you have vertical and horizontal confused?
