So, I've beaten Gears several times now. I've recently upgraded my system to a 128" screen (Which I sit about 10' from) and have 7.1 sound with Polk Moniter Series speakers and a 400 dollar Polk sub system...this game is NUTS!!! It's a whole new experience, and I think that everybody should experience games this way. If anybody needs some recommendations for a system, let me know. ...AMAZING...sorry, but the point of this post is just to say Gears on this system was like playing it again for the first time.

It's amazing what a bigger tv and/or a nice surround sound system will do to your gaming experience. I remember when I played CoD2 after I bought a nice sound system and I had never been so immersed in a game! When I was done I was actually drained because it was so intense!

No offense, but I'd neevr want to game on a 128 inch screen. Way too big for me to enjoy the game.

I don't have a digital camera...but it works pretty well. I spent the weekend putting together a custom screen. I got a ...I think it's 63 inches tall and 112 Inches wide screen custom cut with a dark Grey Cinema Screen from projectorpeople.com and then built a frame for cheap from home depot (the screen material itself is expensive though), and I have the new Panasonic ax200u projector (bright as he!!). And to the guy up top, bigger doesn't equal enenjoyable.

Eh... sitting 4 feet from a 40" TV is more than enough screen for me. I have 5.1 only though (which is fine since 360 doesn't really have 7.1 support).

I have an 84" front projection system (720p) and gaming on it rocks.

What most people do not get is that big doesnot have to equal expensive. The projector (Epson Powerlite 400) and DIY screen cost me $1000 total. What you do need with a projector is good light control or the screen will be washed out.

If anyone is interested in learning about DIY screens or projectors check out avsforum . com's projector forums.

I want to have the surround sound experience. It will be interesting to see how many games take advantage of it. Would work well in Gears of War.

Hey, that's a good setup. My next project will be tiered seating and some really nice home theater seats with cup holders.

Please, you can get a bigger plasma than that ;) Granted, it'll cost you more than most luxury cars, but it's possible (I believe it's a Panasonic or Philips, but not 100% on that).

Projectors are the most cost effective way to go massive and can actually be cheaper than most moderately sized HDTVs (typically they price around what a 50" TV would cost for a decent projector).
