I just realized my right trigger lets out a little squeak whenever I use it. I take extremely good care of my gaming equipment. I haven't used this controller more than a few hours, it's one I bought brand-new.

Has anyone had this happen? Are there any fixes for it?

It's the spring inside of the right trigger. Nothing to worry about. Happens most of the time after the controller has been used a lot.

Is it really that big of a deal that it would require a fix??

If its really that annoying though, I'd just consider taking it back for another. I guess there may be a fix out there somewhere, but stuff like that is almost always a crapshoot as to whether or not it'll still work at all after you've put it all back together.

That's true, it definitely doesn't seem to effect how it plays...

It just gets to me after a while on any game requiring a lot of RT. I guess I just zone in on that sound.

Mine does that to. At first it bothered me quite a bit, but once you get used to it, you cant even tell that it does it anymore.

Every single one of my controllers do that. And I have four, and one of them is the (expensive) Halo 3 limited Edition one.

mine started doing it a few days ago. it's so annoying. i'm seriously thinking about getting a new one and man i can't believe it cause i take really good care of my things. on the other hand my bro throws the controller against the floor and/or hits the floor with the controller when he gets killed on halo 3 and his works just perfectly fine. it sucks.

Yeah, mine started doing it after a few weeks. It's probably because my library of 360 games consists mostly of shooters and racing games which use the right trigger extensively.

The black controller that came with my elite has a squesky right stick, guess it's the spring in that too? On top of that, the new blue one i bought has a squesky left trigger. nothing is quite 100% ont his system eh?

It's to bad you dont have something less serious like a scratching problem or the RRoD, this could be bad...

Use lubrication - didn't they teach you in that special class? :P

Anyway, don't worry about it if it isn't a significant noise. Since it's almost brand new, you can always exchange for another if it truly bothers you.
