Why do you guys get achievements show off, or maybe just that good feeling?

I couldn't care less about achievments...I play only for the fun/entertainment. Oey666For some people, fun and entertainment can come from unlocking achievements. I enjoy getting achievements. I don't obsess over them, though. I think my achievement unlock percentage is less than 50%.
I get achievements because they unlock automatically when I meet certain criteria. I rarely go out of my way to get achievements, they just unlock as I go.
i like achievements but i dont obsess over them or anything, if i get them its nice if i dont im not to concerned, although i do usually look through the achievements after i have completed a game, and if there i anything easy or quick to get that i have missed i will usually go get it, but only after iv finished the game.
also if i really enjoyed a game i will usually go back and play it through on the hardest difficulty, to get those achievements, but only if i really enjoyed it first time through......
I love that rewarding feeling you get when you here the little "Bloop" sound. Its the best sound in the world. But I guess everyone has a little want in them to show off their gamerscore. Why do you guys get achievements show off, or maybe just that good feeling?

I do it for the ladiesAnti-VenomQFE. ladies love nothing at all more than a big fat juicy.... gamerscore.
Replay value for games I've ended.
Before achievements, the only games I ever went out of my way to complete everything was the Resident Evil series(last one being RE4 doing all the extra challenges and what-have-you). Then I got a 360 and found out the achievements was like a laundry list of special tasks to complete within every game. I like achievements in certain games.
I'm missing like 4 achievements in Gears 2, but they're online achievements(reach level 100 and Seriously 2.0) and those are usually the ones I tend not to go after because they are tedious and mostly unfun(READ: grinding).
I get achievements because i play xbox 360 games and they just happen to award said achievements for playing their games.
I go after achieves to compete with my friends. I love being able to say that I have a higher gamerscore than them. Does it mean anything? No. Is it fun to rub in anyways? Yes.
I get achievements all the time randomly. I dont know who the **** is determining that I did something achievement worthy, but I hate the fact some guy is watching me play games all the time.
I find achievements to be an amusing extension of the game when you've already beaten it. It has been an innovative way to add replay value to a game that normally would be a one-and-done deal.
I've been a massive fan of achievements since the start and was one of the reasons why i sold a ps3 to change to the 360!
For me achievements do loads of things:
I suppose they can show of a bit of skill, but generally not.
this. I spent hours on cod4 to get 1000g why? I got nothing directly, but I gota sense of achievement and completion. I could say that I completed 'mile high club' on veteran etc. If it wasn't for achievements I would have probably just played the game through one on casual/easy difficulty.I've been a massive fan of achievements since the start and was one of the reasons why i sold a ps3 to change to the 360!
For me achievements do loads of things:
- Extend the life of a game
- Help you get through games that you maybe don't enjoy that much.
- Sense of achievement when getting challenging ones.
- Give purpose to your play when not simply concentrating on completing the game.
I suppose they can show of a bit of skill, but generally not.

I get them because they pop up when i do certain things in games. Every once in a while, I'll do something specific just for the achievement, but usually not. I think people get way too obsessed over gamerscore. It does a bad job of showing skills, time played, or much else for that matter. Especially since most gamers are multi-system gamers.
