Had mine since March 2006 and no problems as of yet (knock on wood). I use the HD DVD drive for movies though, to save some wear and tear on my game drive.

i just got my third one today! yup thats right ive gone through two faulty systems but idc i didnt have to pay for either i still had a warranty. I got my original xbox 360 on dec 24th 2005 and my 2nd one a couple months later and now this one i just got today. It was worth it though i love the system it just sucks to not be able to play for a couple weeks.
yea my 360 is still working fine i only had alittle problem once but thats becausde i has it on like way way to long and my room was really really hott and it just kept frezzeing but it wokrs beter then ever now=)

i bought 6 launch units as christmas gifts, all 6 are still doing great. there's something to be said for reading the manual. but atleast the average user has learned to figgure out hardware from software issues it seems. nobody blamed cod3's multiplayer problems on the 360. well i didn't intend to buy 6, i wanted to buy 4 and prepaid for 4, but gamestop stuck me with 2 prems and 2 cores. i over paid for two more prems, sold 1 core to a friend, and later found a hdd for the other core so now i have 2, 3 nephuews have 1 and a freind has one. i even sold it to my friend unused for 250 so we split the cost of the hdd he had to buy. but the only red light problems any of us have had is loose video cables, and thats user error not the console. oops not quite correct. i once had a problem when the hdd wasn't mounted properly. totally on or totally off the 360 works fine, half on causes a lock up, again user error.
Got mine in January,Just be smart and get it from a store and get a warranty plan on it so if it does break you just take it in and replace it with no hassle.
I've had mine since the summer and it's working smoothly. Best console I've ever owned, my only problem with it is the fact that it's too damn addictive
Had mine since launch and have had no problems... although my original Xbox from launch did break around the 3 year mark (but that is pretty good).wmc540
Actually thats terrible, my Mega Drive (Genesis) still works, thats been like over 8 years.
