Call of Duty 4 wins for aesthetics. It is realistically beautiful (the grass, the trees, the lighting, the scenery, the breathtaking set pieces).
Gears of War wins for sheer shock power. It looked so good compared to every other game of its time that I bought it just for the graphics. I later found out that it is also a fun game to play :roll:.
I enjoy COD4 alot more, but Gears has MUCH better graphics then cod4.
COD4 is running on a 5 year old engine. They need to stop re-using the same engine and make a call of duty game with a decent engine. Sure the characters look good, but the levels and ground and stuff looks horrid.
Gears, Kameo and Mass Effect have much better graphics then COD4

You have got to be kidding me, the grass in COD4 looks terrible, you walk up to it and it looks horrible. I love cod4 but some of the graphics in it are starting to show there age.
gears of wars looks better more consistently cod4 really nailed the noon lighting but the night mission didn't hold up in my opinion. it looked great sometimes and not so great at other points.
I'm going to have to say Gears on the grounds that, though some of the more direct graphics in CoD4 look amazing, it's the little details that keep it from being groundbreaking. I wasn't impressed with a lot of the textures that they used on the objects surrounding the environment and the backdrops outlying the surrounding areas look terrible if you give it a good look. When Gears 2 comes out with the updated Unreal Engine, it's going to set the bar that much higher yet again.
i have a question! do you people think that a game that is as good or better then call of duty 4 will come out this year! i dont count gears on that list! i mean only FPS like truly fps! because where i have a collection with my games i put gears to my third person, and halo 3 and cod4 in the other!! so what do you think? like for instance can killzone surpass cod4 with graphics or gameplay? because as far as i see it thats the only fps coming out!!

I personally enjoy Vegas 2 more then cod4, but thats probably just me.
yeah everyone has different opinions i understand.. but i mean of what the reviewrs gave the game, and how they talk about cod4 like its some kind of phenomenal fps game!! they even said it cant get any better!! for me it was like WHAAAAAA when i put in the game, it looked really good!! and still does
Gears blew my socks off with its graphics. that was my first game i got with my 360 and the first time i played anything on high def so ya Gears for the win. Cod4 looks amazing to. with the lighting effect. Wet Work is the best looking map on cod4.
