An example of this is the games Just Cause and The Godfather. I enjoyed most in The Godfather game because I made the character look like me and it gave me the feeling of portraying the role of the game itself.

So which type of feature do you guys prefer?

I don't like a game with no customizations at all. I prefer to be myself but :) I like more muscles. I like to make my character taller. I like a long shiny hair. I like all my clothes to be made by Nike and Le Bron and Carmelo Anthony.

Well considering it's really only RPG's and Sandbox games that have customization (Rock Band too) it's hard to say. I like the chance to make my own character but in the end I don't care much either way.

I wish GH 3 has customizations. Honestly I play in GH 3 as the skeleton guy. I don't look like any of the given characters. At least I look like the skeleton guy when I get burned by napalm.

I really don't care. I sometimes like to play the character I am given. Like in Mass Effect, the default male Shepard looked awesome. I would like to customize over characters that aren't awesome and bad*ss. Captain Price and Gaz were awesome characters in COD4 and I would have not customize over them if I had the ability to.

Yes I loved what the characters of COD 4 looked like. They resemble soldiers of real life. If only COD 4 was 3rd person we could customize our own character in COD 4. I like my COD 4 to be younger and short and has a beard. Not too be so that I can crawl on grass without anyone noticing me.

Most of the time I favor jrpgs more then im playing a already made character with a story, not life simulators like most western rpgs are ex: oblivion.I do like fallout, but most of the western rpgs being made now days are create your own character and make your own story rpgs.

i like being able to customize, but in the end it doesn't really matter. i usually just change the options and don't mess around with the sliders :P

I like to have my own character if you're also shaping the personaility throughout the game (example: Mass Effect), but don't care if it's a shooter like COD4 or Halo 3.

kind of a combination of both. like jack in bioshock is a faceless character, but he is driven by such strong motives and at the same time you get to customize his abilities and how you play the game. shepard from mass effect is a good example to. you get to pick where he/she came from, aswell as what they looklike, but at the same time, thier convictions are thier own, and you just happen to care about them to.

Depends if its some famous protagnist then I would just play with the given appearence. But if its any other I would go for customization.

Customisation for the win! Nothing better than having a 5'7" red-headed, pale-skinned, overweight man save the universe (not that theres anything wrong with 5'7" red haired and pale skinned overweight people of course)

I love to create my own character. It gives a me a feeling that I'm actually being put into the game. Plus, it's always fun to make your character look like a complete moron from time to time. :)

I don't mind playing a solid character. Create-A-Character modes in my experience take away from the game, because I am a sarcastic man who indulges too much. The Godfather is a great example of this, because I made a character named Mario who was a bit fat, wore red and blue, and had a full mustache. I had a blast running around New York, "It's-a me!"

I would not mind if it has FULL Customization of the Character or a given character at all. But its nice to be able to make your very own character.

I like playing as myself (my Saints Row guy's likeness is creepy), but I think I prefer the in-game characters that look all shiny and nice, even though I'm pissed if you change your weapons or accessories and can't see the changes.

The shiniest among all customizable character games I have played is TES IV: Oblivion. There is an armor set there that's very shiny.

in fps campaigns I like being an already made character. But for multiplayer and non fps games, I like the customization factor.

I enjoy both, if they offer customization I'll use it, but I usually only tweak the pre-made character rather than completely overhaul all the traits(this tends to lead to one hell of weird character).
