It's quite a bit different and i don't know if i like the new ratings system. But before people were guessing from 8.1 to like a 9.8...Well now that'd be a 8.0 or a 10. What do you think it will get? (new system is in increments of .5)
it should get none of those, it should get something less. i dont know why everyone is going to get halo 3 when there are a dozen games coming out this year that arent just a regular run and gun like halo. unless there is something amazing about this game that im not aware of, but id like to hear what you think makes this game so great.
9.5 IMO. I think 10's are going to be rare. In fact - I've never seen one rated a 10 by GS, has anyone else? That would be cool just to see a game that they think is "perfect". :)

Actually I was a naysayer too about the new system until I just read the new article from Jeff the Editor which goes really in depth explaining the old and new process. After reading this article - i am now actually looking forward to the new system. i thought it was just to simplify the process - but now I know that's not even close to the case. In fact while they will use medals allot more for specific areas of a game - instead of 5 areas being rated - now they will be evaluating 19 different areas. It will just be presented to us differently than it has been. Here man read this article - it may explain the positives to the new system:
i think unless they make the game more different from halo 2 they will fail miserably. But I still love halo so it will still get a decent score. PLEASE BUNGIE I DONT WANT TO PLAY HALO 2.5.

Just go into the "All Games" heading and then sort by rating. There aren't many 10s, but there are some. Ocarina of Time, Tony Hawk, ChronoCross, I think, and more...
9.5, it will almost be a 10, but there will be one issue that will drag it down. thats my prediction anywayssens_rocks_40
I agree 100%. I think the graphics from the BETA will improve. But there will still be one thing that brings it down. It sucks, because if its not perfect in every way, than it's bumped all the way down to a 9.5. The new gamespot rating system is flawed already. The only way a game can be better than a game like Halo (9.6), is for it to be perfect (by Gamespot's rating system). I hope it turns out to be more complex than that.
