As much as i would like for them to give it a 10 i dont think it will happen (so ill go 9.5), but if there is one game that could do it, it would be halo 3.
um... besides my disagreement about the score descriptions, will our speculations actually change your mind about anything? oh well, i say 9.5 or 9 but i say that why dont we just wait for the game to come out, these threads won't make it come faster.

I think it would have received between 9.0 and 9.5 on the old scale, but now they would have to round up or down. Hmm, it's tough to say but I'm gonna go with 9.0. I can only imagine the eRiots that will rampage through this forum regardless of it's score. If it gets a 10, the Halo haters will be out in full force, if it gets a 9 or 9.5 the Halo fanboys will be cursing Gamespot's name. I shutter to think what would happen if this game scored under 9.:o I think it would be best if Gamespot shut the forums down for a full week following Halo's release.:shock:
8.5, the amount of hype for this game has created an unrealistic expectation for this game, and it will never deliver, not in a million years, no game in the history of everything has ever been hyped this much, and most games (notice how i say most because there are those that match the hype) that are hyped to this level are a let down, 8.5 and not a point higher
i think it will atleast be a 9, but i wouldnt be surprised if GS gave it a 8.5, because sometimes it seems GS tries to be the site that rates really good games the lowest. its kinda annoying
9.0, I would like it to get a 9.5, but you know, GS has been flopping games recently that I actually see a possibility of it getting a 8.5, just remember Zelda: Twilight Princess, the unfloppable game :?
9.0-9.5. Its probably going to have some issues in places or other things like that. Its going to be a awesome game, but time will tell once we get our hands on it.

I doubt it...I think the review will be released at the same time as the game.
gamespot will probly wait until the game is released, but ign and alot of other sites will most likely release reviews before the game is out. if i remember right, ign released the review for god of war 2 like a whole month before the game came out.
its gunna have such a much better campaign than the lasthalo story wise. Plus theirs gunna be 4 player campaign too. Theres gunna be a ton more maps, weapons, and vehicles. The campaign graphics are going to be sweet although the online graphics are gunna take a hit so that the gameplay will run smoothly. The online is the best out there because of all the people that play it all the time. I think that i will love it and rate it a 10 but gamespot will rate it a 9.7. just my opinion but this game is gunna ROCK.
I'd like to say around 9.5 but since some places will WAY over throw things (sorta like bioshock, with all the 10's anyway) than I can see 10's and 9.9's (9.9 because of "lack of true innovation")
If gamespot didn't give halo 3 either the same score as Gears of War or better it would be totally bogus. We can all see that Halo 3 is really going to be a great game and it already deserves a perfect 10! :D

naw they cant rate it a 8.5 they will get to much crap from everyone and then people will start to think the rating system is bad on gamestop because everyone is gonna love the game and rate it a 10 themselves.... just think about it... so they cant rate it under a 9.0

Tough call, I thought H2 was way over-rated at 9.4, but this is supposed to be much better. The new rating system is screwy too. Having only seen the gameplay videos, it looks far less inventive than Bioshock so I think it should be rated at the same level or lower. But knowing GS, I'm guessing 9.5 (which is what they should've rated Bioshock).
