What ever happened to straight up gaming?

Nowadays its all about achievements and how good the graphics are of the game. Why can't a game be good because its challenging or because its actually fun. Who cares if it looks like im in the game, but the gameplay sucks. Whatever happened to playing a game for being a game?

That is where Ninja Gaiden 2 comes into play. Challenging and fun. Not about the graphics, or achievements, but about the brutal and gruesome deaths. Well, for me atleast.

The camera really isn't a big problem. You can easily adjust it, so pick it up! It's very fun and worth the money.

Sports games, specifically tennis games, havent changed much. You dont see top ace graphics on the tennis games either.

I agree. G(F)am(k)ers nowadays wanna play games that give them rewards after each kill(you know what I am talking about). What happened to the reward of having fun?

if you played through the 1st one with the camera issue, then theres no reason why you should worry about the same issue in this one

Eh. There are still plenty of games out for all systems that you just enjoy playing. Plus with games like Bioshock, Mass Effect, Metal Gear Solid 4, etc. out, games have evolved from mere toys to full fledged psychological thrill rides. I have a whole blog entry written about that actually...

Achievements have helped gaming for me. Ill play a game through the story mode and MP for awhile and when I get tired of it, the achievement hunting will add replay value.

I straight up get my game on...then go for achievements. There's time for both.
