The "Elite" Xbox One controller will cost $150. You can read a lot more about it at Microsoft's website. As part of Microsoft's E3 2015 briefing today, the company officially announced a new Xbox One controller. It's called an "Elite" controller, and it aims to offer "pro level precision." The wireless pad has hair trigger locks, swappable components, and button and paddle remapping.

The new controller has been designed for Xbox One and Windows 10, and is different than the slightly tweaked Xbox One controller that comes with the new 1TB Xbox One console.

Not sure about this yet... not sure if it's worth the price. Also sceptical as to how it will improve game experience (in a game like Forza for manual gear changes maybe).

Pricey, don't see how it's any different to a SCUFF controller.

I don't think I would pay $150 for a controller unless it's like a tablet, or has its own computer inside of it or something.

I'm fine with the regular Xbox One controller...

It's too much for what there asking and I'm loving my original Xbox One controller and never had any problems anyway. For that price, I can buy 4 games.

Too expensive, in my opinion. I would never spend anything near that price to get a controller. Call me stingy, but 150$ for a controller is too much,

I ended up pre-ordering one today, but still not sure if I'm going to get it... Better to be safe than sorry I guess.

I want one, but damn not at that price. I'm never going to afford my sex change surgery at this rate, I'd have to sell another kidney.

expensive, but looks cool. I like that it'll be ready to go with windows 10 as well. But i don't know if it's worth it to go and buy, MAYBE after an overtime shift at work lol.

Looks awesome, it's obviously not for everyone but it's nice to have such an option for the more serious gamer. I'm OK with the price tag as long as the value is there......it needs to be more than just the regular controller with a few little extra touches....will find out when it releases.

Day 1 purchase. Controller is the most important part of the console. It appears durable and is compatible with PCs therefore this thing will be used for a long time. The ability to switch control schemes mid-game is awesome. I'm not a super competitive gamer but I think this will enhance most genres. I would even use the paddles in RPGs.

If you haven't seen the in depth previews of this thing, I suggest you guys check it out. I was out after the price announcement but back in once I learned more. More than meets the eye. If this controller ever hit critical mass to the point where they bundled it with the Xbox One for the same price as the PS4, I think MS would move a lot of consoles.

if, that is a humongous if, one of my current controllers breaks down, i might consider it, however the 150 usd pricetag does seem a bit overwhelming...

@pankar94: Exactly, it's definitely not a product aimed at the casuals. I'm not a pro gamer but I play online competitively a lot, so I'm very interested in this controller. As I understand it, the controller is reasonably priced compared to the competition, which appears to be "Scuf" controllers, and those seem to range between 130$ -150$ in price. So in terms of comparable products, the price seems OK, and will likely go down a few months after release.

Instead of buying an elite controller, you could buy Fallout 4 ... twice. In all seriousness though, I think the controller has some neat features and I like the extra durability, rubberized grips and interchangeable parts, but not being a pro gamer that would utilize all the features like the customized button mapping or the paddles this is not a day one buy for me. Maybe if I have some extra cash to spend and there's a dry spell of interesting games to buy I might pick it up, but looking at this year's fall and holiday lineup, my wallet's already going to be hurting.
