I work at a videostore and there's a game for the ps2 thats based on the Vietnam War. It's called like Conflict Ops something, or Vietcong. something along those lines, I'd have to check again.
past vietnam games have not been successful in the U.S becasue they lost the war. I could care less but I played battlefield vietnam on the PC a while back and it was a blast. Anyway A new Shellshock game is coming out and it is said to take place duing vietnam
I almost forgot about Men of Valor thats one you could check out its good.

ye Men of Valor was an awesome game... but you cant forget about battlefield vietnam.... great game if people are still playing it online which i think they are.

There's a reason why Vietnam has been under nominal communist rule for the ast 3 decades. And US soldiers fleeing from Saigon was a sight to behold.
But if you want to bury your heads in the sand then so be it.
And to answer the OP, people in the US hate seeing their own failures and Vietnam can't be whitewashed by some "alternative fiction" as is the case with many modern day shooters. US developers won't touch it, European developers couldn't care less and Japanese developers hate FPS generally anyway.
