k i just bought this monitor its max resolution is 1440x900 and i was thinking to buy a VGA adapter but i been reading in forums that 360 doesnt support it so my question isÂ
-should i spend 39$ on a VGA adapter for monitor 1440x900 (make it look bettter?)
-or just keep using my composite cables for old TV..... (crys)Gimli_the_Pimp
Well VGA supports 1280 x 720 1360 x 768Â 1920 x 1080 I'm guessing that resolution is a wide screen so might be best setting it on 1360 x 768. I would buy the VGA.

hmm wouldnt 1360 x 768 stretch the screen??[QUOTE="jamesgj"][QUOTE="Gimli_the_Pimp"]k i just bought this monitor its max resolution is 1440x900 and i was thinking to buy a VGA adapter but i been reading in forums that 360 doesnt support it so my question is

thax for the helpÂNo problem.
X06 supports 1920 x 1080 , so if you do what you were saying it will workUGAHWhat does that even mean? It supports a lot of other resolutions besides 1920x1080.
Just set it to the highest resolution that is proportionate to yours. I think Jamesgj was correct about 1360x768. As long as the two resolutions (1360x768 and 1440x900) are proportionate, the image will look just fine. And to... Set it to 1280x768 - the people telling you to set it to 1360x768 are incorrect. Your monitor is a 16:10 LCD monitor - aka (1440 / 16) * 10 = 900. However, the 1360 x 768 resolution is a 16:9 resolution. The true resolution of most 720p LCD HDTVs is 1366x768 (16:9) but the closest resolution a computer can output is 1360x768... resolutions have to be multiples of 8. Long story... Anyway, before this gets too insanely complex - your monitor is 16:10 therefore you want a 16:10 output, or everyone will look too fat or skinny. You'll notice it right away when things that are supposed to be circles look like ovals. Use 1280x768 and you'll be *fine*.

The native resolution of the 360 is 1280X720 (720p) with an aspect ration of 16:9. Monitors that support 1400X900 have an aspect ration of 16:10 and cannot correctly output 720p. What it does support is 1280X768 (768p) with an aspect ratio of 16:10. Which is actually alittle higher resolution than 720p.
Don't know if that makes any sense to you but it's the answer to your question.
so ur saying 1400X900 better than 720p but the 360 cannot output it?The native resolution of the 360 is 1280X720 (720p) with an aspect ration of 16:9.
