Battlefield 1943 is kinda underated. You should try the first versions of games such as bad company 1 and Bioshock.
I would have to say Far Cry 2. That game got no love, and it is amazing.DeadSarow
That's the complete opposite, it was overrated. The reviews gave it 8's and 9's and I hated it.
Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising was underrated, along with the Sabotuer.
Yeah i know, i think that previous comment about Alan Wake was a joke, well i hope it was. That game did get good scores and some love, not as much as i would of hoped but still. What is this with Alan Wake i only hear good things about it ?

Too Human and Fracture. They're both pretty fun.orb_03_2006
I got Fracture last month for about £3.99. I completed the entire first level (which must have been like 8 hours! :P) and most of the second level out of the three... I got kinda bored with it to be honest... this shows as even if I think a game is average like so, I usually complete it. Fracture, I didn't. The only thing the game has going for it is length, personally. It would be a great game had it been worked on more. Not enough cutscenes (they seem like every 2 hours... and when they are they are like 10 seconds long), too much repetition and boring environments, but hey, that's just my opinion ;).
For me:
BlackSite: Area 51. I seriously think this game is underrated... you hear so many negative things about it, but the truth is, it is more interesting than Halo 3! if you have never played it, I at least recommend everybody to rent it or get it cheap... it is a fantastic game. The only bits in the game I am not so much a fan of is the long driving sequences, which seem to go on for too long and not enough is going off during those moments.
Dark Sector. Awesome game, the lonely son of Gears Of War. solid game!
TimeShift. One game that actually uses it's powers with a point. The time shifting abilities make this an awesome game. Some great environments and moments too. How can you not love that giant fan that you have to run over by slowing down time? :D. Again, reminds me of Halo but so much better. It actually seems to have more to it than Halo as well ;)
Rock Revolution. Yes, I can see the games flaws, but the flaws are mainly in the career mode. Not only that, but Rock Band and Guitar Hero's don't hardly have a story either, it's just some modes are a bit different in the career mode. But if you go in to quickplay (like you do with the other games 99% of the time), the game is fun! the only flaw is some covers are terrible (not many though), and the flat notes scrolling UP screen can be a little hard to get used to... but play it for about an hour and you will be happy with it :). GameSpot's review on this was WAY too harsh... I believe it received a 2. It deserves at LEAST a 7, personally.
Not exactly underrated, but the Xbox 360 version is. Call Of Duty: Classic. Obviously nowhere near as good as the PC version as you could have up to 64 players on that but on this you can only have 8. Also, there are no quicksaves which makes the game impossible on Veteran (Hardened is okay... I guess. I completed the 360 on that) on the 360. Still a very good game though, even if you have the original you should consider downloading it! sure, the odd things disappointed me as I am a big original COD fan, but I definately did not feel ripped off or wasted my money. I recommend this to any FPS fan :).
Alan wake was a really good game if youre into atmospheric (creepy) gamesAlan Wake is the best single-player game I have ever played.Constant peril + creepy atmosphere and music + supernatural enemies + great character development + twist and turns as it plays out like a great TV show/movie = Possibly GOTY ?[QUOTE="speedfog"]
What is this whit Alan Wake i only hear good things about it ?
Wolfenstein has a pretty low score for such a nice game :)

Definately Max Payne 1. The game had an awesome story, seriously. And at the time it wasnt released to properly compete with some of the other games that had just recently come out. Max Payne 2 on the other was a waste of money in my opinion.Reaper937Agreed on both counts. The original had a really good story & writing (no joke). Loved the characters and the voice actors. And what about Lords & Ladies? Destination Unknown? Genius little tidbits that I still remember to this day. xbox carryover wasnt as smooth as it was on my old PC, but its one of 2 (along with ninja gaiden) original xbox games I cant bring myself to giving away. MP2 = crap, and so is the horrible mark wahlberg movie. Why couldnt they just stick to the original story? Best to just walk away..
Halo Wars is very addictive. Fable II. The Darkness but I suppose that's more overlooked than underrated.Floppy_Jimthe darkness FOR SURE you can get it used for ~$10 and its pretty friggin sweet
