Somrthing is wrong with my xbox 360

I have the elite and have had it since christmas last year, and recently I rented a game for it. At first the game would freeze only with this game so then I asked the video rental place to professnally clean the disc which worked to a certain point as i was able to go only a little bit further through the game.. Before this the game would freeze at a certain time which was weried. Just now i put in 1 of my own games and have just witnessed the same problem meaning its a console problem..

I get white lines down the screen, and I'm forced to turn off the xbox to get it back to the orignal screen. The buttons on the control have no effect which is why I have to turn off then turn on the console.. Any1 have this problrm and know how i can solve it?

Have you registered your console?

i think so... i live in austarila and i have a gurtee on it in GAME.

Anyway, im playing halo 3 online now and so far so good.. fingers crossed its ok..

the same thing happened to me with an elite back in nov.--games froze at a certain point and two days later i got the e-74 error

So the best thing to do is to NOT play it, and send it to Microsoft right?

BTW, what did you do Ghost? Since u look to have the same problem i got I assume its fixed now?

i bought a new one--i didnt feel like waiting for ms to fix it and moneys not a problem--if u cant buy a new one start the process by contacting ms--but u have to have 3 lights or the e-74 message

Oh thats what u mean by registed. Well no its not, however the place I got it from GAME said when we bought it that they'll send it over if I were to have problems..

I got white red and green lines going down the screen with me wen playing GTA4. After that it went.

Dont send it to MS though until its showing the 3 lights. Otherwise they may charge you for replacement.

Just turn it on, and if you get the 3 red lights, all is good. You'll get your replacement if your in warranty.
