And I know it's a bit much, especially for one game and the extras, but I've followed the Halo series really closely and I'm a huge fan so I don't mind paying this much, and that's all the Legendary edition is for, the big fans of the game, the casual players will just pick up the regular edition.

Well im in aus and i wanted to get one but the man said we sold out of em, u get collecters, so i got collecters and collecters bioshock, and not sit in my house alone with out a helmet to put on my cat, and me and my cat are very depressed about it, (btw my cats obbsesed with halo) .someone hold me.. :(

just wait a few months----there will be some leftover sitting on store shelves. there are always limited editions of games sitting on store shelves. I doubt this will be any different.
The Legendary edition isn't THAT expensive. I have the money to splash out and for my favourite franchise, why not? It's the first time, excuse me, second time (recently Pre-Ordered the large BioShock box), I've payed this much for a game. It's a great adition for collector's like me and it will be very rare.
The last few days, the Legendary edition has disappeared from all the online retailers I was browsing. Case and point.
As for being available at retail - it's not going to happen easily. Shops don't have the shelving space for such large items and can only stock small amounts for short periods of time.
I only pre-ordered my Legendary box about a week ago and I'm glad/lucky that I did as it now seems that you can't get hold of them.
I live in the UK and I was only able to find one place that was doing pre-orders for the Legendary Edition. I pre-ordered mine in May.
The listing for the Legendary Edition now has a status of 'out of stock' and if you search for it on the site you don't get any results.
I phoned them to find out what was going on and they said I was stillgetting one but they'd removed it from the site because they'd sold what they had and they won't be getting any more.
I'm glad I pre-ordered when I did.
Some people don't see the point in buying the Legendary Edition. That's their opinion. I wanted it as soon as I seen it. Money isn't much of an issue for me.
