Red Dead Redemption online still active?

and how many of you guys still play? I am tempted to pick this game up again as I had a LOT of fun with friends and random players in free roam. I am trying to decide between Red Dead or Splinter Cell BlackList.. money will be tight after I purchase 1.

as long as online is still active im all for it! thanks for that info. Its still kinda hard to choose out of these 2 games though lol
