Black Ops will go down and Halo and Call of Duty will even out again.nate_c-12By Sage's Beard, I hope you're right. Only time shall tell.
[QUOTE="nate_c-12"]Black Ops will go down and Halo and Call of Duty will even out again.BillThePenguinBy Sage's Beard, I hope you're right. Only time shall tell. There is no doubt Black Ops will go down. It is not going to keep 3 million forever and probably not into 2011. But I still doubt Halo and Black Ops will even out. I have a feeling Black Ops will always have more people in it.
Pretty sure its just for XBL. I'm not positive.BillThePenguinlol you post facts then your not positive... link i find out.. if you got off black ops website then it's talking about every system...
That's a shame but, then maybe I can find some non annoying ten year olds to play Firefight and multiplayer.
Ya, Black Ops is hitting over 3M concurrent on a regular basis right now, but it's a new game.
Give it a few weeks and the population will die down a bit, but based on these #'s right now, I think that BO will actually stay ahead of Halo for a while, which I was not expecting.
But Black Ops is a solid game
Reach's population maxed out a little above 1mil on release day. BO's population exploded into 3mil on the second day. Reach barely holds onto 150,000 simultaneous players, with over 800,000 players daily. BO holds a strong 3mil, with probably a butt-ton more each 24 hour period. Halo and Gamer community, I am dissapoint. Yet another Halo game wrecked by another CoD rehash. *Shakes head* Sickening.BillThePenguinWho cares just play the games this isnt high school fighting over whos more popular .

Actually, it was more like 2 to 4 mill. I know it was well above 1 mill. Reach was averaging at a million player a day a week ago.

You're really comparing a two month old game to a two day old game? Of course Black Ops is going to out perform Halo, it's brand new. Halo's hardly been "wrecked". A game doesn't need millions of players online a day or be the most played game on live to be successful.
First of all you're not even sure whether your statistics represent the BO numbers on all gaming platforms or just the Xbox. However either way, this game just came out so of course it will have a higher playing rate than Reach, but I expect these numbers to even out within a few months.

3 mill for ALL platforms, but still very impressive, guess it was that Kobe commercial, but i think mw2 is better
That 3M is for all systems. BTW, where did you get your numbers for CoD from? P.S. On Bungie, it says there's 871k online right nowFunconsole
That 3 million that shows when I'm on Xbox live looking for a game is for all systems?
I don't know if I believe that, but who knows.
Halo 3 is still one of the top played live games. I think Reach may not be top now, but wait till Black Ops dies down. CoD don't stay on top long and since its a Treyarch call of duty it'll fall faster, I predict MW2 will pass it in about two months again

And Black ops isn't a re-hash...Reach is a re-hash....
Did you really just say black ops isnt a rehash...lol thats great man, thanks for the lol
I completely agree, I love bungie but I just HATED reach... still will keep it. Black Ops is AMAZING!dude i bought halo and it was mediocre traded it in and got cod and love it to death. halo i just got ored with in a bout a week.. not sure why. looked very good

Honestly you can't compair the 2, COD is mutli platform and halo is xbox only.... they are both great games and bring different things to the table but comparing numbers for one thats multi platform and one that is not is just retarded. Once people start finding ways to mod and cheat like they did in MW2 I'm sure the population will drop huge.
Halo will be played longer I think.SoAmazingBabySure, because the next COD will be out in less than 12 months.

I'm pretty sure its actually only 360. I saw a thread on the PS3 boards the first day it was released talking about there being almost a million players online and someone said they saw like 600k. When I went on an hour later there was like 2.7 million online. So unless 2 million new people logged on over the course of an hour the numbers are platform specific which is just insane. At one point last night I saw like 3.6 million. On topic, weren't MW2's numbers always higher than Halo too? Halo has always had a very dedicated fanbase that will continue to support the game for years after release. By next year Black Ops will probably be abandoned for whatever new CoD game is out. Please Log In to post.
