How old are you? I mean if your 17 or older then they really shouldn't be touching your stuff but if your younger then that's a different story.

Your parents sound lame. I had a friend his parents put a lock on their TV they only got 5 hours total to watch each week. They also made him juggle like 2 or 3 jobs while in high school while he had to wake up at the ass crack of dawn to do swim team stuff and all his money had to go to his college fund. They were well to do, kind of waspy, had money most likely, but it taught him a valuable lesson of personal responsibility and hard work. Honestly my parents spoiled me rotten and didn't teach me any of that so in some ways that's to be respected. Hopefully you're at least getting that or they're not doing it right.

Well the only thing you could do is move out of your parents house and only then, you call the shots around here.

Your parents are lame. But fortunately your only have to endure until your 18yr old. Then you can move out, get your own place, job etc. But for now you have to endure lame parents. Until it is time to put them in the old folks home....

But for now you must endure.

This summer I bought myself an Xbox 360 with my own money (which I got from working the whole year). For Christmas, I got a couple of games (Skyrim and a couple of others). I played them during the morning and at night, assuming I did my chores first. The second day after Christmas, I woke up and played video games BEFORE doing my chores. So, my parents got really mad and took my Xbox away. Then it turned into a big argument because I got ticked off, and the whole day was ruined. I'm assuming that they smashed it because they said they were, but I don't think they did. Again, my parents HATE video games, and I only play it for maybe an hour a day, if that. So, what do I do?

Out of curiosity, why do you're parents hate video games?

To me your parents seem like they're the types to blame columbine on doom or something. Hopefully they're reasonable, but i grew up with a mom that was pretty pig-headed about certain things.

First you stated that they took your Xbox, but at the end of your post you claim that they "smashed" it... Something smells fishy here...

Well tbh you paid for the console with your own money. Living with them ir not, that is your property which they can not take. Tell them its your property and its not for them to take.

For starters, Xbox 360 still has more gas then it would seem. 360 is still a great console to own, even if it's 10 years old, it's still amazing console with buttloads of games. Plus, it's 100% BC unlike the One.

@thebigroosteryo: You have to suck it up dude.

I have friends that aren't allowed to play any games at all, EVER or watch TV.

You just have to be thankful of your lot in life.

Plus, even big hits like Rise of the Tomb Raider and Forza Horizon 2 still release on 360.

You are right, the old gal still has some gas!

To add to this, if TC never had a 360 or PS3 or PC, then all these games are new experiences to him. I mean, he didn't go work, save and buy an Atari Jaguar here. Last gen consoles are still great to own and libraries are all there to be enjoyed. I still fire up my PS3 to play games from last gen.

TC your age would help us give advice, and some background on your parents hatred of games would as well.

They are replacing it with a PS4?

I was playing 18 games/movies way under age, guess my parents didn't give a shit.

I'm of the school of thought even if you're 37, if you aren't at least paying rent and you're living at mom and dad's, then your stuff is collateral for staying there. I rent from my uncle at a dirt cheap price due to him being a disabled Vietnam vet and needing the help and he has a soft spot for me being a vet using my GI Bill. But I still pay him $600 a month for a beat up studio in his house's basement. By NY standards that is cheap. Last year I was renting a dorm room for $1250 per month.

Like I said, you live at home for free, it aint "your stuff"
