Now that Infinity Ward had fallen apart, what is the future of Modern Warfare 3?

We all know there is going to be MW3, judging by the massive profits the creators will make as well as the somewhat cliff-hanging ending of MW2. But now that IW has fallen apart, and many MW dev veterans have left, who will be taking charge of the third installment? Will Treyarch step in afterBlack Ops?

It will get made and a ton of people will buy it. Same as the second. It will probably sell more than the first but less than the second.

I believe there was a company named that will take over, hammer interactive or something? I'm not sure. However, what I am sure is.. People will buy the game regardless. "OMG, Call of Duty on the title? MUST BUY!" - Is the mentality of many gamers. I personally wont buy it, Black Ops may be the last CoD for me.

hopefully Respawn Ent. wins their lawsuit and Modern Warfare 3 eithers isnt made at all of Respawn get the rights to the Modern Warfare IP and they get to make it how they want it without Activision rushing them and making it sh*tty

im not buying black ops or mw3, the only possible reason for me to buy black ops is for zombies mode, but i am NOT playing competitive multiplayer

For me multiplayer is all about the maps & it's Treyarch > Infinity Ward by a landslide. I don't think IW will be missed

I am sure you are right treyarch will most likely be making the third.

I could see Modern Warfare 3 coming out, but perhaps it will just be called "Modern Warfare 3" without the Call of Duty name.

Probably not since IW left I'm pretty sure Activision will fully expose Modern Warfare 3 as a Call of Duty named game with HUGE letters. The more recognizable it is the more money they will get. Which is about 100% of their goal.

Best answer yet. :) Modern Warfare 3 will be made. By who? I dont know the answer to that, but it will be made seeing as how the previous two modern warfare games were instant successes.

Im sure Respawn Entertainment will handle itthe2gamer

Ummm... Respawn is with EA and Activision owns the CoD franchise.
