okay so i just purchased a new slim arcade for $199 @ best buy and first thing to know...its 4GB flash not a HDD like the box says, the system is quiet but after 5 minutes it started to overheat like crazy, and it was only in the system guide...wtf? even my 20Gb halo 3 ed doesn't get that hot! the hottest part was from the side vent and i never noticed that fan going off, maybe i have a defected system and that fan is broken...apart from that the system...well is not THAT impressive.

There's a fail safe on the new 360's that have it shutdown if it overheats. If that hasn't happened to you then your console is fine. Mine is hot too but since the GPU, CPU and eDRAM are on one single chip under the vent. It makes sense that so much heat comes out there.

I guess your first mistake was buying the arcade version.

But in all seriousness, I have the 250 GB version and if the only difference is the size of HDD, I found it to be a very impressive system. Especially the Wifi, great wifi and no need to run unseemly ethernet cords around my house.

But like has been previously said, if it's not shutting off then it's not over-heating.

moan moan moan,

This is like when homer went into that bar to see the biggest keg in the world, then when he saw it, he just signed and said, 'yeah, its pretty big, I suppose'.

Anyway, it didnt overheat yet so your title is misleading at best, and at worst a lie. Why moan about it man, if its working fine then get on with it and stop looking for problems. When you say its not THAT impressive, what were you expecting, its just a 360 with a new jacket and some nice new additions, nothings really changed, didnt you figure that before you bought it?

Most of you guys don't know, do you? The new xboxs can get VERY hot. due to the new vent system, it pushes ALL of the hot air our, so their is no hot air inside, with no hot air inside, it all comes out, can you guess? OUTSIDE! Very complex stuff here, stop crying about it, its not broke, it didnt even show signs of breaking, just that it is hot.

I have 2 360s, none of them gave me any problem yet other than disk scratching, but it can easily be solved by installing the games on the HDD.

I have had the same 360 for 3 years, never any problems, except when I played Oblivion on the hardest difficulty, it was really easy.

I mean the new 360S. I mean, someone said it shuts down if it gets too hot. That's good. Do you have the new one?

If it's just getting hot, it means move your console to an OPEN AREA!

There are no more red rings. They took out the Red LED Lights.

I don't think anyone denied you have the 360 S. We're just saying its not overheating. It does get hot, but that's the heat source right there where the vent is. You shouldn't worry and enjoy playing. :)

I want to enjoy it, its just that when I was buying it, the girl at the counter keep talking bout how they were still overheating a whatever, I didn't pay attention she just wanted me to buy the stupid 3 year coverage, its just that when i set it up and it got super hot...just pissed me off. But now i understand that it is all the heat being pushed outside to keep the system cool.

Return it. It's got you incredibly stressed and it's clear that nothing anyone tells and no amount of reality will ease this stress.

I really want the 360 S, but i already have an 120GB Elite Old 360, and with the WiFi adaptor.

I'd love the 250GB HDD, and the new design and smaller size is growing on me

Though i'd prefer the 250GB to have a matte finish instead of a glossy finish
