I knew it was going to happen, my 360 finally died on me. Looks like i'll be playing PS3Wii for the next 3-4weeks. This sucks, first day of my vacation too. I had plans with my 360 this week, oh well.

Well you're lucky it lasted that long honestly.zero9167
Yeah that's true. I knew it was going to happen sooner or later. Today it kept freezing when i was trying to plat skate. I kept restarting it, then thestart screen froze when I turned it on. I had a feeling I was going to get the red ring, turned it one one last time and bam, died. But like you said I'm lucky it lasted this long
Mine stil lives, bought moments after launch. Which means it lasted longer then my first (original) xbox and PS2 so I always found the 360 to be an incredible strong lasting console but that says more about the lastgen garbage that I owned.ronnet
Hmmm... My original Xbox still works like a charm. I play San Andreas from time to time on it.
It came out of nowhere like a stray bullet that exploded to my console. I have read forums on here about random people that have been attacked by this same plague but I had no I deal how it exactly happens to people until it happened to me. Mind youI had played my system earlier that morning with no problems...But around 10:30 pm I went to turn it on and then it happened. There was no warning that my system would crash or anything. It left me rather upset actually because in this same month I was contacted by Microsoft in regards to extending my warranty for my 360. At first I was not going to extend it because like I said earlier that I have had my system since launch and there were no problems, but from reading about all of these 360's having the whole red light special I decided to spend the 20 bucks and extend it for an extra year...Just in case...And long behold just as soon as I extend the warranty THIS HAPPENS...It kind of feels like a conspiracy to me
Don't start flaming me now OK because I love my 360, I wouldn't have brought one if I wasn't a fan but its just sad to see your systems being shipped of to the Microsoft Hospital via UPS and there wasn't and thing that you could do about it to PREVENT THE Problem From Happening To You. I take good care of all my systems : PS3, WII, 360...I kept them in cool places etc... and again I felt helpless when the red lights blinded me. I called Microsoft and we went trough the trouble shooting steps but to no avail...Now my 360 must take its journey to rehab for a slow but steady recovery. While I was on the phone with the Microsoft tech i told him since I cant play my 360 I guess I will have to play my PS3 and he busted out laughing so with that said I was at least glad that I could put a smile on someone else's face that evening.
I just wanted to share my experience with you guys R.I.P 360 Nov 05 - May 07
I end up voiding my warrenty and trying to mod my 360 for better cooling. I have that Pelican fan stand and where it blows into the 360 I drilled out an clean opening so the air blows freely through it into the 360. I was hoping it would improve air flow through the 360's case and thus cool it better. The fan also blows onto part of the CPU heatsink as well. We will see if it helps keep it from dying.
So far I haven't had any lock ups since I did this little mod, where as before I would have lock ups now and then if I played for a few hours. Maybe it is just coincidence, who knows.
My 360? 12/22/2005 - ?
Yes, nothing can kill it. No matter how many games I play or marathon sessions of Halo 3 or Viva Piñata or APF 2K8 or Forza 2 or ANYTHING!!!!!!!!
But your story has given me hope. Maybe I too can get the RRoD in the near future. Maybe my Best Buy warranty won't go to waste and I too can get a new, better 360 with HDMI and a new heatsink and 65nm chip. Well, a guy can always hope and dream ...

fjskahgkjsa ahhh. The same thing happened to me today and instead of trying to play skate one last time, I decided to just turn it off and leave it alone for a while. I'm scared of skate now D:Please Log In to post.
