Internet giant China Telecom has entered a partnership with Microsoft for the Chinese Launch of the Xbox One, the companies announced.

The deal will see China Telecom act as the exclusive carrier provider for the Xbox One in China, allowing people to enjoy the “games and entertainment experience at home.”

Speaking to Reuters, Microsoft China spokeswoman Joanna Li said that as part of the deal, China Telecom’s customers will enjoy an exlusive offer on the Xbox One.

When Xbox One launches in September, in addition to the China Telecom consumer offer, it will also be available to the general public for purchase at retail.

The partnership gives Microsoft access to China Telecom’s 30 million broadband consumers.

The Xbox One is set for a September launch in China, with the exact pricing and release date still unknown.

they need all the help they can get if they ever want to catch the ps4, but already being 4 million units behind ps4 is not a good sign.

If Microsoft can get a hold of the China marketplace. Launch Xbox one with some made for China games. To get by the Chinese sensors and create some games that will please the Chinese government and citizens alike. Microsoft can do well with the Xbox one in China. Xbox one failed in Japan. Even though it has not launched in Japan yet. It is a given that Japanese will never except Xbox one. So Microsoft can have China embrace Xbox one then MS could actually "Win" the 8th Generation of videogame consoles. If MS works with Chinese game developers then they can have a chance at success.
