So let me fill you in with my story here, I called Microsoft Jan 17th about my XBOX (I had the E74 Error 1 red ring, but it was unfixable basically graphics card fried or whatever) Anyway due to sunday and MLK day I didn't receive my coffin until thursday 2nd and send to UPS the sameday and microsoft received the xbox sometime sunday night. So I wake up today on tuesday morning and my status shows it's already been shipped back to my house and shoud arrive tommorrow around 3.

Is Microsoft getting their **** together finally and making quick turn around's or do they treat E74 error different from the 3 ring RROD?? I did read most people with E74 wait for at least 3 weeks.

They probably gave you a different console instead of fixing your old one.

When I sent mine back, it took exactly 2 weeks for it to get fixed and returned to me. I think that's about average over here in the UK, which is good, because I would hate to have to wait over a month to get my 360 back. Actually, I would hate to have to wait any length of time, but 2 weeks is certainly better than 4-6 weeks.

Have had to send mine in twice, and both times it took less that two weeks to get it repaired and sent back to me, very quick. (Ireland)

If you send it in without waiting for the box you usually get it back within a week.

Mine took a couple of weeks for the entire process, contacting ms to getting my console back. They don't always repair your specific console and instead give you a refurbished one. This was the case for me because I wrote down my serial number just to check and they were different.

When mine got the red ring of death, I think the box came within a few days, and I think it took about a week or week and a half from the day I sent it to the day I got it back.

Did any of you have a fee after the repairs?

Lately I've had the 3 rings a lot. But still get it to work. But it takes a lot of times of putting the disc in to get it to read a game.

It pops up with that white screen telling me to put it in a 360 system often. So I know it is going to die on me soon.

But is there a chance I'll get charged?

I dont remember where my receipt and warranty info and all that is. Does it matter?

i had the same issue with mine. i sent mine in on Dec. 7, 2008. I didn't get a replacement back until Dec. 28. I also had the E74 error, and it took microsoft 3 weeks to replace a console. And the console I received has 16A voltage rail, which means it's a zephr chip. I bought a falcon. I'm currently waiting on a response on what the chipset is for my replacement. the service center tells customer service a week later that they refurb consoles by replacing the chip with the newest chip sizes. I requested in writing a letter from the service center stating the exact size of the chip in my replacement xbox. hopefully they'll do that within a week. i'm kinda pissed bout all this.
