fan isn't that loud, or at least mine isn't. DVD drive is loud if I don't have my game installed.

if you install the game to the hard drive its quiet, super quiet. the disc doesnt spin, therefore cant overheat too, which is another plus.

naw its just the fan. its really loud. ive been through one repair so my elite is reburbished

yeah the slim is out - they have them at Gamestop for a day or two now

im 95% sure you created a topic like this a few days ago and all it said was 'the PS3 is so quiet' so yeh.... it really isnt that big of a deal, just install your games and you wont hear a thingchaoscougar1

I hear everyones going crazy over the slim one at gamestop. I heard one guy working there said he had 50 people come in one day asking for it. A lot of people are also trading in their old one for the slim.
