It's ok, the gym, car modding, overstocked clothes shops, dancing clubs, hairdressers, karate dojo, tattoo parlours etc. really didn't need to be there, but the action (driving, shooting, fighting) was solid.
I played San Andreas a lot, I like it better than GTA4. I lost interest with GTA4 when I got to the second island. I stopped playing a few missions into it.
It didn't seem very alive for being so big...plus if you are the type of person that can't possibly sit still and do one thing...then well...the ability to have a plane hanger, helicopter, jet pack, cars, boats, bikes, choppers, crotch rockets, mediocre shooting, really lacking story, get fat, get buff, buy sh!t yawn at the sub-par AI then sure...play it. Before GTA IV came out it was fine....I still liked Vice City more but it was a solid GTA. Too much praise maybe....but I beat it and enjoyed it at the time. Once GTA IV came out well....all other GTA's are extremely dated feeling. When it comes down to it, the best GTA's are GTA III, GTA VC and GTA IV
Well, you can do a heck of a lot more than you can in 4, workout, mod cars, get fat, buy houses, get respect, fly jets, parachute, jet pack, I think it was the best GTA so far.
What oh come on san andreas was really good so was vice city and so was GTA3 and GTA4.
only thing people didnt like about san andreas is that the story does a bad belly flop and the middle and it dosent fell like therers any point to anything anymore but other than that its a great game.
San Andreas was a fun game... until got to the part of trying/learning to fly a plane which for me was a major pain, so I stopped playing at that point.
just try it for yourself TC and make your own mind up. all the 3d gtas are great games its just a matter of personal preference as to which is the best. personally i think san andreas is the weakest one, but thats just my opinion. i found it too big and too long with a threadbare story and an unappealing main character. i much prefered gta iv's condensed story and game world. i would take iv's quality over san andreas' quantity any day. but judging from the comments in this thread it would seem i am in the minority..
San andreas is the best gta so far.The game it self is awesome but i was really driven by the story.GTA 4 was really over hyped.It didnt really live up to san andreas.It would have been better if gta 4 came out b4 san andreas,then san andreas would have been a next gen game,that would have been awesome!
