I finished the game about two days ago. I thought it was a game that has a lot of potential and hopefully the sequel will fix all the problems with the original.
Good game, but overrated and made out to be something it's not.
You probably didn't comprehend it.g5velocityMost people cant. That's why stick to their "Pull trigger guy die" story lines.
AC story was not that deep nor was it interesting either IMO. I felt that developers tried too hard to be deep and thought provoking, but it ended up just being really corny with nothing original to say.
For example, before each assassination they kept stressing(hammering me over the head) how each assassination target is a very bad person. Every time I killed this person, I was treated to pseudo philosophical mumbo jumbo which boils essentially down to this person saying "I am not that bad as you I am and all my deeds are for the greater good. You just do not see it". They used this same set up over and over.
I am sorry, but this is not compelling storytelling to me. I have actually felt insulted by whole thing. Do they really think that I will not comprehend their "deep" story unless they spell it out for me in this fashion? Additionally, I do not find this idea of grey morality a revelation either.
I also love the fact that they put the banner stating that this game was made by people with various religious backgrounds and beliefs when the game starts. Who cares there is nothing new or controversial about their ideas. It is just pretencions on their part to think that IMO.
The SF element was more interesting, but there was not enough of it(I guess they are saving it for sequels).
and it was the most disapointing story ever!!!!!!!!!Halochief_101
yeah it sucked. it is the reason why all the game is the same thing over and over.. worst story ever. such a waste of an awesome engine.
*SPOILERS AHEAD*
i thought the story was realy cool up until the last half hr....i mean c'mon...i'm all for the historical conspiracy thing of "nothing is known and everything is permited", but the seconed they brought in the magic spheres that contols the minds of men i wanted to turn the game off. totaly ruined it for me. it turned a pretty cool and mildly original idea into somthing totaly convetional and stupid.
I thought it was awesome! It gets especially interesting if you look into the meanings of some of the symbols on the walls. I can't wait for the next installment, the storyline has a lot of potential and tweaking the gameplay a bit will make it a little less repetitive.
[QUOTE="b11051973"]I just beat the game the other day also. I thought it was a good game, but had problems. I hope they fix those problems in AC2.robobie
and how do you know there will be a second one?
In many ways:
1. They already announced the game will be a trilogy
2. The ending basically tells you there is more to come
3. The game made Ubisoft bucketloads of cash, so why wouldnt they make more
I think everyone is missing the point of the "Magical Orb" the entire game falls into the ending, showing that the two sides are following the same god, That the Crusade was a misuse of power. That our current wars mean nothing. It has a phylisophical standpoint given in a mystical sense.
This game is not only culturaly significant, but a great view on hystory and "Modern Mythology".
What was god? A scam.
