For those of you who use Winamp and actually update it when they tell you, you probably know about this program.
Winamp has a program called Winamp Remote and it's simple to set up. You'll be able to stream music thats on your computer onto your 360 without having to have them hardwired together.
All you have to do is install Winamp on your computer, and during the setup for install, click the box for Winamp Remote.
After it's done installing just open up Winamp Remote(which is a seperate program from Winamp, then you should have a green Winamp looking icon in your system tray in the bottom right of your screen.
Right click on it then go to configuration, and in the Media tab, add or remove folders to get to your music then press ok.
Right click on it again and go to "Go to Winamp Remote" and your default web browser should pop up with a ui that looks like the Bento skin for Winamp.
In the far left, you'll have your library which you can browse through and even have your own custom playlists from Winamp.
Now leave your computer on and turn on your 360.
Go to the Media blade and select music. Change your source to your computer and you will be able to pick your music you set up in Winamp Remote.
This also works on PS3 under a slightly different process and can do videos, too.
If you can't get it to work, then click on the help button that is above the Winamp Remote
