so my brother was playing nba 2k9 and i walked in. He hits a ridiculus shot to tie it up w/ 1.7 seconds left. Then i say it doesn't matter because mike bibby will hit a three to win it anyway. well long story short, he lost the game then decided to take the game and throw it like a frisbee across the room. Well it got scratched and freezes at around 6 or 7 seconds into every game. Is there any way to fix this w/out buying a new one?

Buy your games for the PS3 which uses unscratchable bluray discs.

As odd as it sounds put a little tooth paste on it, cover the whole disc in a thin layer, and then wash it off, it worked for my cousin a couple of times

in all honesty i have not tried it, though their techniques are usually reliable. i would test it on a less expensive disk first.

most of the time when a disc is unreadable its not actually scratched, its been "lazered" by the 360. This usually happens when the console is tilted when a disc is spinning in the drive. theres nothing you can do to fix it.

thats almost as ridiculous as saying the ps3 isnt overpriced

and ontopic: try using vaseline. take a tiny bit and rub it through the scratches. worked on my tony hawk like a charm :D.

Tell your brother to stop being an idiot, throwing your games because you lost is being a poor loser. As for the guy that said PS3 games are unscratchable... hahahahahah thats the funniest thing I've ever heard. So can you explain to me why my roommate's lost planet is scratched and the PS3 refuses to play it? Thats what I thought

Look at your nba 2k9 and check if kevin garnett is on the front cover not rajon rando. If that does not work well then atleast kobe is having fun!

I've tried tooth paste and it works. Also, as weird as it sounds, take the disk in one finger and hold it in the toilet as it's flushing.

(P.S.- hopefully if you use this technique you remember to flush the toilet before you put the disk in there, i'm not responsible for any pee or crap getting on the disk)

(P.P.S.- to the PS3 dude your an obvious troll, plus PS3 disks are far from unscratchable.)

lol, another thing you could do is rent it and switch the disk, but I wouldn't advise it because it's illegal.

At Gamestop/EB Games I think they resurface scratched disks for a small fee.
