I have no idea. I doubt the COD series will end any time soon. Modern Warfare 2 is coming out and COD7 is already confirmed. Activision loves to milk series to death.
My guess is it will slowly just morph into another series.... For example; they already almost dropped the COD name from MW2... I would say in the next 2 or 3 years, it will morph into a new series, but retain a lot of the COD flavour
