once a year, i've gone through two 360s. each of them was about a year. my first one was 5months but that is another story.

my friend had it on a serge proctor. we unplugged it when we turned it on. it was on for like 24 hours so that is why it broke.

I've heard that too. I think the elites are less likely to get that because they tried to eliminate the over heating issue.

About 2 years. Launch console though.

They repaired it so I still have the same console.... (wonders how long it will last this time.)

My Elite lasted a little over a year before getting the RRoD. I just hope the one they sent me lasts longer, or dies sooner than my warranty is up!

I never had one repaired but had two break on me.

The first one was a launch system and I've had it for a good wile until RROD. I was an Idiot on that one, though. I was certain it was out of warranty when I opened the plastic shell to remove all the dust that had accumulated in the bottom. I got an additional week out of it before it died completely(RROD wasn't even alight). I took it to GameStop to trade it and that's when I learned of the 3yr warranty (DOH!) and they pretty much treated the console like it had anthrax contamination. They wouldn't even take it off my hands because I had removed the plastic shell...

My second one died about a half-hour ago...

I bought mine used from some kids that were trying to sell it to Gamestop so I offered them the cash instead of store credit....never had a problem with mine.

I never play on Xbox Live so maybe that's what's causing the system crashes?

Had mine since december 2006 never a problem. Bought a inter-cooler I guess it helped because I never had a problem. the only thing that has happened to me is playin' for extra long periods of time from time to time my system will freeze up on a game. I stop playing and let it cool down before I play again. I bet it helps to live in a cold climate too.

sorta like the fix in 07 right? yeah i thought i was in the clear, they made that announcement about a week after it broke. But low and behold my 3'rd one broke last december. Im hoping they are right this time and my next repair in december or january is my last one.

Im20D4Life

But what about all the millions of consoles out there without these new modifications?

Will MS just keep fixing them up only for them to break again?

Sounds like the problem will last forever (unless MS actually replaces all those consoles with the new fixed ones.)
