Depends. Usually, aim. Because it only takes one shot that way. Even if you don't 100% hit your target. But if the target is moving around allot and fast, then I shoot from the hip. But it always takes more then one shot to kill someone that way, or one completely accurate one from really close.
Thing is, this shooting from the hip is overrated. You do allot more damage when aiming. You can run around and strafe, the moment you shoot just aim for half a second and you kill anyone.
Iusually dont aim. It depends how you play. If you like to rush people like me then thiers no use for aiming most of the time. If your outnumbered or you like to let them come to you then aiming is better. But it all depends on the situation. IMO
never aim!! ok listen close, theres like a .25 second lag when you shoot, so always try to shoot a little ahead of your enemies movement and try to guess where he will go, and imagine a target in the middle of thescreen, and try to keep your enemy in that spotif youre right next to him melee, BUT NEVER TRY TO HIT HIM TWICE!!!! hit once move away, shoot. heres my strat, always look for places to wall bounce, hit A, slide into the a cover next to him, B, move away, SHOOT. thats how i got my "seriously", hope it helps
If your directly infront just shoot, but If not aim just to get your shots on target then finish off with hip-firing if theyre not dead. active works a lot better when aimed and If timed well, depends on how many shots you have ready.
I just shoot, used to aim but I relised thats how to get your assed kicked. I would advise not aiming. I use it like that now and its my strongest weapon
