Good single player game..

So im getting my xbox back and i was wondering what to get. i don't have xbl available right now so i have to get a single player game. I have mass effect and fallout so im not interested in those. But how about fable 2. I have heard very mixed reactions from it. Or any other suggestions

Fable 2 is definitely worth a look. People slated it because it's linear and has is a bit of a different feel to a Fallout/BioShock style RPG. Personally I can highly recommend it! Also have been quite partial GRID, DIRT and PGR4 recently, if you like driving games that is... EuanFlood

Single Player? No doubt, get a game called Crackdown; GTA on Steroids and crack( and some weed)! Oh, and you can't forget Assassin's Creed. Game on and live on!

Fable II is definitely a good game and dropped down twenty dollars recently, and if you want a single player game on the longer side, research some JRPG-esque games such as Tales of Vesperia or Lost Odyssey. If you like a decently-lenghted FPS game, the Orange Box is great, and Portal is a clever, original adventure (though short).

How much money are you going to spend?

Bioshock, Assassins creed, Orange Box, Tales of Vesperia, Oblivion, Fallout 3, Dead Space, Condemned 1 & 2, Lost Odyssey, Eternal Sonata, and really any of the other games these guys have mentioned above me.

The Orange Box, Fallout 3, Fable 2, Brother's in Arms: Hell's Highway, Ace Combat 6, Assassin's Creed, Bioshock, Forza Motorsprot 2, Any Tom Clancy game, NOT Oblivion.

Vavle is really a PC oriented company. They just released the Orange Box on consoles to make some extra money for the rest of the Half-Life games and a new Counter-Strike(hopefully).

Tales of Vesperia is golden goodness.
