General 360 questions...

So I am thinking about getting an 360...and i just wanted to know a few things

1.)Are there any big problems the 360 has? I saw there was a topic about the system scratching the disks..is that common?

2.)How much hard drive space will i need? If it helps to know..I don't plan on downloading much from marketplace and stuff like that.

3.)For XBLive can I use the free membership to download from the marketplace?

4.)Anything else I should know? (Try to be honest...cuz I'm sure some of you are somewhat biased :))

1. if you are experiencing problems right after you get it then it will be covered by the warenty, i am pretty sure they fixed this problem because of the recall they did when it came out.

2. depending on how much you download, how many games you plan on playing, and music, pics, etc. you usually dont need much space. i still have nearly 13gb and ive downloaded a few things and have played about 25 games i(ncluding origional xbox)

3. yes you can but for the best experience on xbl you should get gold. it is so much fun! but you don't need it.

4. if you are getting one now you may want to wait for the elite for the best of the 360s. Everyone claims to eventualy have a problem with there 360 but i haven't and i play on it for like 1-3 hours a day. But the 360 usualy has the est games (GEoW, dead rising, oblivion expansions.) and ill add if i think of anything..

There are no demos on the VC. I dont like that...they need a demo channel for Wii.

2.  u'll have plenty unless u plan on putting ur entire song library on ur 360 and save every demo

4.  yeah, just get gold subscription.  most online games are completely solid.

Thanks for the input...I just wish I could get the Elite without the 120 GB hard drive..I'd be fine with just 20GB

Do not worry about that, because the bigger hard drive will be worth it, because it will be there incase you need it at a later date, just go ahead and buy the elite with the 120 gigabyte hard drive and futureproof your purchase

There's pre-loaded movies and music that can be removed to bump that number up a bit.

My best advice would be to stream your music from your PC if possible and you'll have plenty of space. I've had my console since Jan of 06 and I have a 20k Gamerscore (so obviously I play a lot), yet I still have 9Gig of space left. THere's even a couple of demos I can get off of there if I really need some space, but it's not an issue right now.
