Gears of War 2: Question

Hey PPls, for the past idk week ive been playing Gears2 online and for some reason, I'm always host...like seriously 95% of the time. I've google it and it pops up like how to bridge ur connection and what not...which i don't do cuz i haven't even touched my router. I just pop in the disc and hit mutiplayer and boom match starts and im host like automaticly. I do have a extermely fast connection but i doubt its that cuz Gears doesn't have any host choosing preferences. So anyone know why I'm always host?

Just lucky I suppose. Sometimes i get host 10 times straight, other times I don't get it for a week.

I guess i must be the luickiest person on gears, cuz ive gotten host 40 times in a row then boom i lose it for one game and then i regain it for another 35 lol

I get host alot as well but i hate it because it just seems way to easy to kill people when your host in that game.

There actually are host choosing preferences. If you typically play by yourself--you don't play public games with friends--you are a great deal more likely to get host. They don't wanna give host advantage to a group of friends who have partied up.

Lol, i swapped to a wireless connection and for some reason i was getting host more often, i rlly need to get this game buffed out soon, lol, the new dlc is going to b great :)sk8erwarlock

yeah i'm glad i didn't get any of the DLC when they were released, cause i'm going to get them all in the All Fronts DLC

wanna know how you know if youre host? i dunno if it still does this but when i played and it made me host; you know the countdown down for the game to start, in the lobby? that countdown will blink :00 twice. thats how i used to tell. there are various ways i used to be able to tell, like the whole throwing your smoke at the beginning on the match, i think it was if it rolled in the air you were host, but if it didnt then you werent.

Hey, I get host way too much, too. Not 95% of the time (that's crazy), but like 35% of the time. Doesn't sound like much, but it should be around 10%.

I usually play alone/no party. Is that why?

I don't think xbox live is taking into account connection speads to determine host, because my connection is sub par (1700 down/420 up).
