Game with the best "Cover System"?

Which shooting game for you had the best cover system?

I liked the easy feel of Rainbow 6 Vegas 2, but Gears of war and GTA 4 are good aswell. Whats yours?

Gears. It's the game that made cover systems popular for a reason.

i gotta go with Gears. There not the fist to do it, but they did it best.

I didn't really like gears' cover system, don't get me wrong nice game, system is nice. But for me I thought Vegas 2 cover system was best because you weren't "stuck" so to speak you can move and cover smoothly. Gears' was slightly similar, although for me it had a sort of "sticky" feel. my opinion of course..

Yeah, I'd have to say Gears of War as well.

I never used cover in GTA IV. You don't really need it. R6V always bothered me because it's supposed to be a realistic tactical shooter but when you cover it switches to third person and you can look around corners without exposing yourself at all.

In Gears I don't like how everything is controlled with a single button. It's too easy to do the wrong thing. I cover when I want to roll or roll when I want to grab a meat shield and it often gets me killed. Though it is a lot smoother than most games and I can't think of a better one at the moment.

i say R6V... I didn't like how Gears used the same button for multiple moves, sometimes I get stuck to a wall while running when I don't mean to. GTA4's cover system was just not that great to me. Kind of clunky...

theres is no way gears of war should win this, every wall in that game is velcro/gluechaoscougar1

vegas has the best cover system iv'e played and i also like the brothers in arms series cover system which is basicly the same as vegas but a bit more sticky and you can jump over the top as well. also gears cover system is good but not really as necesary as the cover system in vegas as you can survive a lot of punishment in gears without cover but two shots in vegas and your dead so the cover becomes really important

Gears of War 2 mastered it Vegas has a nice one but it's awkward at first, Gears of War is always fluid and easy.Toriko42
