Not sure who owns the rights to it any more. EA used to, but their games didn't sell well. Then I think Sony picked it up, but I haven't heard much on any games they may be making with it.
Sony had the lisence last, lost it last year (?) but no one has yet to pick it up. A dream situation would be for Turn10 to get it. But I think they're also working on PGR, so I don't see that happening. At this point I'm hoping for a F1 car in Forza 3, a-la GT5.
As far as I know EA already signed a $10 mil contract with Lewis Hamilton to create an F1 game, sort of the same thing they have with Tiger Woods for golf games.

I think sony still own the rights for it, I really want an F1 game but there's no point shelling out 300quid for one game at the mo. Maybe after a price drop ill get F1 and GT5.

I would really like to see a Formula 1 game for the 360. I have the one for the PS3 and that is probably my most played PS3 game, so one for 360 with achievements and an up to date roster would be fantastic. Unfortunately, I really doubt it will happen because they just don't sell well enough in the States and no developer wants to pick up the liscence for a game that won't sell well.
