Just read the IGN review and wow, i knew it was going to be very good. I am gladi preorder the game and cant wait to go pick it up later today. Going to playing this game for a long time.

I disagree I reckon LBP will get it due to originality, apparently 360 version looks better thsn PS3 verison as well

LBP might get PS3 GOTY, but doubtful across all consoles...it relies too much on community activity. It may be unique and a creative gem, but its lacking some features that most GOTY games have....such as a story...But i also doubt FO3 will get GOTY. I'm assuming, based on the review scores....unfortunately GTA4 will get GOTY.

I wouldn't exactly say Game of the Year games require a great story. Look at World of Warcraft..

I'm not convinced. The reviewer fails to mention anywhere in that 5 page review anything about the rest of the Fallout series or making any kind of comparison with it. While he is at pains to write Fallout 3 every time instead of just Fallout, he seems to be trying his hardest to pretend this is the first ever Fallout game.

Yeah it's Oblivion with guns and you loved Oblivion, and you love guns, therefore you love Fallout 3. That's great but I couldn't care less.

I'm a big fan of Fallout and want to know what the game is like from the perspective of a Fallout fan. Reading IGNs gushing "I love Oblivion, oops I mean Fallout 3" review tells me nothing

Well, I never played WoW but i would say its an exception considering its outstanding userbase.

World of Warcraft barely has a story at all and it won Game of the Year. I'm just saying that a game doesn't need an oustanding story to win Game of the Year, although it does help.

I just finished playing a 7 hour "prelim" for Fallout 3. I liked it. I felt I took things a little slow.... g

[spoiler] Got lost a few times in the subway... but I think I'll have plenty of fun. For my first run, I did decide to blow up megaton only because my speech check succeeded with Lucien Burke, err Mr. Burke. I do loves me some bottle caps. :D I ended up going with average stats all around with a focus on cha and int. I sorta wish I did differently. There's a LOT of fighting that you have to do and I almost didn't make it a few times. [/spoiler] Hope everyone has loads of fun on their run through the Wasteland.

My main questions were was the main story good and are the side quests just your typical rpg, "go here, fetch/kill this" style of sidequests. Luckilly it seems like the main story is solid and there are about a dozen real deal high quality side quests. I'll probably pick this up once its in the $40s.

The UK review said the writing and voice acting is more along the lines of a shooter rather than say something like Mass Effect, which is critical for me.

ye 360 version wins in graphics and look at the size of the world who needs blu-ray?

yeah not many games can get above a 9.6 so this is probably the best rpg of the year. can't wait to play it

The RPG elements and the story are MUC MUCH better then Oblivion, so im very happy.

Just as long as they keep the great atmosphere and humour from the past fallout games ill be super happy:D

Oblivion had a horrible story and barely any RPG elements, im sooo happy to hear bethesda fixed those things for fallout 3:)

IMO, it's more RPG than FPS.
