It didn't really matter to me, since I was anticipating it during the holiday season. I just don't know how I'll afford Assassin's Creed, Halo 3, and Grand Theft Auto IV before Christmas. Even if I can pull that off, I won't have the time for them!

Happy. It coming out in Sept allows me to save money for the holiday season (because i would probably keep spending paychecks on more useless crap then i needed).
I don't think it is early as far as MS and Bungie are concerned. If they wanted/needed the extra time they'd take it. I think they've been aiming for late September all along. September 25th, 2007: Halo 3 released - world goes crazy. October, 2007: Non-360 owning kids everywhere are jonesing for Halo 3 and start begging for a 360 with Halo 3 for Christmas. November, 2007: Parents, sick of continuous whining/begging, begin to break down and start buying 360s December, 2007: Other parents realize that 360s are flying off the shelves and begin to worry that they haven't bought the must-have toy for Christmas - panic buying ensues. January, 2008. Microsoft releases Q4 2007 financial report. Shareholders happy, competitors weep gently to themselves. That's the way I see it going down, but it wouldn't work without an early fall release date for Halo 3.
