dumb question: Do I need the game disc to play DLC?

reason I ask is that I rented prince of persia, played through it and am about to return it and I don't want to have to rent it again if I decide to download the epilogue.

Of coarse you do. How else would you be able to play the DLC?

Nope. The DLC is just an add on to the game. Think of it as extra information they didn't put on the disc but it needs the assets from said disc to actually function.
